Big Grin How To Podcast Using Wp
Podcasting may be the next step up from blogging. While blogging is done by armies of pajama-clad common people, podcasting is done by many of these same people, though less frequently in pajamas, in front of an electronic or audio recorder. Short pieces are saved, then distributed via RSS 2.0 or Atom to their site, generally a blog site. Listeners and viewers can then acquire podcasts using podcast clients. A great podcast client (for instance, Juice, CastPodder, or iTunes) allows you to sign up to the RSS/Atom feed of your beloved podcasters and automatically obtain this content to a computer or to a transportable audio player when new products can be found.

Most podcasters develop their content-in MP3 or MP4 audio or video files and distribute them, linking to the report in a blog post. People may then follow the link to get the information if they are maybe not immediately subscribed for the RSS/Atom feed. The issue has never experienced getting the content to the web page, but in getting the content to function with the feed systems. New podcasting data will be automatically included by wordpress, in most cases, inside your RSS/Atom supply system. This makes it easy for you to provide content and for your users to subscribe to that content.

For most of us, WordPress 1.5 and above will podcast quickly and automatically. Whenever you connect to the audio file in a WordPress article using the total URL target, it automatically brings it for the RSS/Atom feed and makes it practical as a podcast. Be sure to use a full address:

Wrong: My podcast

Right: My podcast

Your last step will be to set a link to your RSS/Atom feast upon your site. By default, the feeds are situated at the end of one's WordPress page. Discover further on a related portfolio - Click this web page: powered by. The hyperlink should look something similar to this if you are using RSS:

http://example.com/wordpress/?feed=rss2

The link will appear like this:, If you should be using Atom

http://example.com/wordpress/?feed=atom

In earlier versions of Word-press, computerized links work for threads only, perhaps not for static pages. You should be specific to republish the article containing the link since WordPress has to keep a-ccurate file size data, if you change a linked file. Your podcast won't work properly since WordPress will not have the right file size information when it's up, should you have associated with a file that for just about any reason is not fully accessible from your own website.

For Apache servers and others that use the.htaccess file, you may need to include an instruction to the config file or.htaccess file to obtain the machine to acknowledge podcast files (m4a and m4b) properly. You can simply add this line to the file you use:

AddType audio/x-m4a.m4a>.
